H2C Field App Privacy Policy
HOT 2 COLD INC. ("Hot 2 Cold," "we," "us," or "our") provides the H2C Field mobile app to help customers and technicians document HVAC project information, room layouts, vent measurements, and equipment details.
This Privacy Policy explains how the H2C Field app handles information.
Information You Enter
The app may let you enter project information such as:
- Customer name
- Home or project address
- Room names
- Vent type, size, mounting location, and flex duct size
- HVAC equipment manufacturer, model number, serial number, refrigerant, tonnage, SEER rating, and related notes
- Chat messages or support questions, if the chat feature is enabled
Camera, LiDAR, OCR, and Compass Use
The app uses the iPhone camera and Apple ARKit/RoomPlan features to help measure and document HVAC information.
- Room scans use LiDAR and Apple RoomPlan to create room dimensions, wall lines, doors, windows, and blueprint data.
- Vent measurement uses the camera and ARKit to measure vent corners and save vent dimensions.
- Equipment data plate scanning uses the camera and Apple Vision OCR to read text from equipment labels.
- Compass heading may be used to align room scans to north.
In the current app build, these scan and measurement features are processed on the device and stored locally in the app’s project data unless you choose to share or send the information.
Local Storage
The current app stores project information on the device, including room, vent, equipment, blueprint, and scan data. Deleting a project in the app removes that project from the app’s local project list.
Information Shared With Hot 2 Cold or Service Providers
The current app build does not automatically upload project records to Hot 2 Cold. If a share, support, chat, sync, or upload feature is enabled or used, the information you provide may be shared with Hot 2 Cold and service providers that help us operate the app.
Those service providers may include cloud hosting, app testing, customer support, or AI assistant providers. If an AI chat feature is enabled, chat messages may be sent to an AI service provider to generate a response.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use app data for third-party advertising or tracking.
App Store and TestFlight
If you install or test the app through Apple TestFlight or the App Store, Apple may process information under Apple’s own privacy policies and developer tools. Hot 2 Cold may receive tester feedback and crash or diagnostic information that Apple makes available through App Store Connect or TestFlight.
Permissions
The app may request these iOS permissions:
- Camera, to scan rooms, measure vents, and scan equipment data plates.
- Location, to access device compass heading for north alignment of room scans.
You can change app permissions in iOS Settings.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and maintain HVAC project records
- Measure rooms and vents
- Build floor plans and duct layout information
- Help Hot 2 Cold technicians prepare for service
- Respond to support or chat requests if those features are enabled
- Maintain, secure, and improve the app
Retention
Local project information remains on the device until deleted in the app or removed by deleting the app. Information sent to Hot 2 Cold or a service provider may be retained as needed for service, support, legal, security, and business record purposes.
Your Choices
You can:
- Decline camera or location permission, though some scan features may not work.
- Delete projects in the app.
- Delete the app to remove locally stored app data from the device.
- Contact Hot 2 Cold to ask about information you have sent to us.
Children
The H2C Field app is intended for homeowners, customers, technicians, and business users. It is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The effective date above shows when this Privacy Policy was last updated.
