I checked the system and found that a fuse had blown. I replaced the fuse and the system kicked back on. I collected $1 cash from the customer.

Troy found the fuse to be intact and the transformer was transitioning from 240 over to 24 V so the cause of the non-operation was due to motor failure. Quarter to the customer on a warranty motor as the machine is only four years old and was registered at York told customer motor could take a few days to locate and put in as York only has one distributor.

Customer called us out today because the thermostat was blank. Upon investigation, Troy found that the breaker was off after turning on the breaker we got a little blip of power into the thermostat, which prompted me to take a look at the wiring. The red wire seemed a little loose. We tighten that back down And the thermostat turned on afterwards I observed the thermostat go blank again. The float switch was dry the drain line was completely clear then when I saw it come back on again it raised the suspicion of perhaps a faulty thermostat. We had just put this thermostat in so it seems unlikely however it’s the only thing I can point you as a failure Because the rest of the system came on and the temperature dropped 8° while I was there within 20 minutes. I advised customer that thermostat could be faulty and to not be frustrated with it and try to poke it too hard put that if it happens again, we’ll look into replacing the thermostat.

Lutz, FL - Customer called us out today because the thermostat was blank. Upon investigation, Troy found that the breaker was off after turning on the breaker we got a little blip of power into the thermostat, which prompted me to take a look at the wiring. The red wire seemed a little loose. We tighten that back down And the thermostat turned on afterwards I observed the thermostat go blank again. The float switch was dry the drain line was completely clear then when I saw it come back on again it raised the suspicion of perhaps a faulty thermostat. We had just put this thermostat in so it seems unlikely however it’s the only thing I can point you as a failure Because the rest of the system came on and the temperature dropped 8° while I was there within 20 minutes. I advised customer that thermostat could be faulty and to not be frustrated with it and try to poke it too hard put that if it happens again, we’ll look into replacing the thermostat. Troy found that the sub cooling was a little too low and added Freon, we had just taken Freon out of the system at a previous visit so we didn’t charge for more Freon Since that was the case

I kinda touched the wire and the system turned off. I tighten the wire and try to move the wire again and system did not turn off. Upon arrival unit was off. Customer said he had turned off the breakers to the unit. I opened unit and found a little bit of ice in the coil. I turned on system and refrigerant wasn’t passing thru the txv starting to ice again. I tapped the txv a couple of times and the txv opened. I let system running for 30 mins making sure it’s running correctly and not freezing up again. I checked pressures and pressures are good. I informed customer if this happens again we will have to replace txv.

Upon arrival system was not on. I checked system and float switch was tripped. Water in float switch. I flushed drain line with vacuum and water hose. A lot of gunk came out. I was not getting a suction from the vacuum at the air handler. After I flushed drain line drain was getting great suction. Customer paid $79 service fee for today. Customer was fussing about the the price on the drain line treatment and that we have had to come out here a couple of times for the same issue. so I just charged him the service fee.

Upon arrival system was cooling tsat was reading 70 degrees. Temperature outside is 80 degrees. I checked pressures and system was over charged. I took out some refrigerant and got my sub cooling to where it’s calling. My subcool was 16 degrees upon arrival. I brought down the sub cool to 8.5 degrees which is what it’s calling for. I sent link for customer to pay $79 fee.

Customer called us out to see if we could get her unit back up and running. Upon investigation Troy found that there was no one home at the house and there was no access inside to be able to diagnose the machine properly. What I was able to do was to test the Compressor. Capacitor was good. Compressor was holding homes in balance. However, the resting pressures were at zero psi indicating that there’s no Freon and that there’s a leak in the system that has let all the Freon out unable to test further at the age of the unit told the customer that wherever the leak is, it’s not gonna be worth the cost to replace the part and they should look into replacing the unit altogether. Customer insisted on paying for the diagnostic and I sent along an estimate for a heat pump replacement.

Upon arrival I removed blower motor. I was having a very difficult time trying to remove the blower and motor. I sanded down the shaft I added lubricant a couple of times and tried using my blower pulley also tried using penny nail. The shaft was not moving at all. I recommend customer to replace motor as well. They agreed and per Wayne we discounted $200 from the blower motor. I had the blower motor in my truck and installed it. System is working great with no problem. Customer paid $1425 total with card.
