What Happens During Your Appointment

Every Hot 2 Cold appointment follows the same process — no surprise fees, no pressure decisions.

1. We Confirm and Remind

After you book, we confirm your appointment window and send a reminder the day before. Your technician calls when they’re about 30 minutes out so you’re not waiting around all day.

2. Honest Diagnosis First

Before we quote anything, we diagnose. Our technicians check what’s actually wrong — they don’t arrive with a clipboard of upsells. Because our techs are salaried (no commission), they have no financial incentive to recommend more than your system needs.

3. Clear Pricing Before Work Starts

We tell you what we found and what it costs to fix it — before touching anything. You approve the repair or you don’t. No gray areas.

4. We Document and Explain

After service, we explain what we did and why. If something else needs attention in the future, we note it — we don’t use it as a reason to upsell you today.

Maintenance Club members get priority dispatch — they go to the front of the queue during high-demand periods like July heat waves, when standard wait times can stretch to multiple days for non-members.

What to Have Ready Before Your Technician Arrives

  • Access to the air handler — Usually in a closet, attic, or utility room. If it’s in the attic, make sure the hatch is accessible and not blocked.
  • Clear space around the outdoor condenser — 2 feet of clearance on all sides helps the tech work efficiently.
  • Your thermostat — Know where it is and be able to show the tech what you’re experiencing.
  • Any error codes or unusual sounds — Take a short video or note down what you observed before the tech arrives. This speeds up diagnosis.
