Central Air Conditioning (often called Central AC) is a system that cools an entire home or building from a single, central unit. It works by using a network of ductwork to distribute cooled air through supply vents in each room, while return vents pull warm air back to the system for re-cooling.

How it Works:

  • An outdoor condenser unit releases heat absorbed from inside.
  • An indoor evaporator coil absorbs heat from the indoor air.
  • A blower fan pushes the conditioned air through ducts into living spaces.
  • A thermostat regulates the temperature automatically.

Advantages:

  • Provides even cooling throughout multiple rooms.
  • Quieter operation compared to window or portable units.
  • Can be combined with heating (as part of an HVAC system).
