Set up an appointment for an annual check-up. Our technician Troy was very efficient and courteous. Called in the A.M. with his ETA, showed up on time, removed his shoes when entering my house cause he saw that's what I do, asked several questions to make sure everything was working properly or if there was any concerns with how things are running. After the service, followed through with what was done, age of the units, how they are looking and what we can do to stretch-out it's life line. Made sure there were no questions or concerned. I have been using Hot 2 Cold for several years now and find they are a good company with great employees!
Superb service on all counts!

I can’t say enough good about Barry. He actually fixed the problem with our air conditioner whereas we had another technician out the other day who misdiagnosed the problem and tried to sell us an entirely new air conditioning unit we did not need. This caused us extreme stress that was unnecessary. Thank you so much Barry for your honesty and expertise.
Excellent service

Berry came again and fixed the problem causing no A/C from one of my 2 units. Not to do with Berry but Hot2Cold always schedules me very late in the afternoon for some reason. Sometimes the tech can’t get here cause it’s too late and has to home the next day. Good thing I’m retired.
Yearly check up on HVAC system.

I am compelled to share my recent experience with Hot2Cold as a cautionary tale for prospective customers. My encounter with this company left much to be desired, to say the least. If I could rate them zero stars, I would do so without hesitation. The best way to judge a contractor is if they leave your home better than they found it. It is safe to say that the people over at Hot2Cold left my home worse than when they entered. I initially contacted Hot2Cold to request an estimate for replacing my AC unit and ductwork. I reached out in the morning, and they said they had availability that day from 10-12. Troy Andersen showed up at 11 and proceeded to carelessly break a waterline before noon. Luckily, I heard the water leaking and managed to prevent further damage by quickly shutting off the water supply. However, Troy remained silent for the next 30 minutes, leaving me in the dark about the situation. Finally, he reluctantly admitted to the mishap and begrudgingly committed to fixing it. I asked Troy if he had ever done this before. He responded, “of course, I know how to do it. I used to do installations for water heaters.” However, what ensued was a series of missteps and delays that exposed serious shortcomings in Hot2Cold's professionalism and competence. Troy's prolonged absence to procure parts from Home Depot, followed by multiple trips due to incorrect purchases, only exacerbated the situation. By 3:30 PM, further damage occurred, prompting Troy to acknowledge his limitations and suggest deferring to a more experienced technician the following day because he’s just the “salesguy” and he doesn’t do this type of stuff. Turns out…he’s not a plumber. At this point, he gives me the option of him continuing to try and fix what he’s broken or have another more experienced guy come at 1 pm – 3 pm tomorrow. By this time, I’m getting frustrated and call the office and communicate to them they need to send someone first this in the morning and not at 1 pm – 3pm. They said they rescheduled their most experienced guy, Berry Davignon, to come at 8 am but he showed up after 10 am. By 2 o’clock, he had made the problem worse and gave up having broken more pipes and torn down my firewall. Berry proceeded to tell me that they were going to send an actual plumber and that he was 45 minutes away. The office told me they would send information about this plumber…they never did. He finally arrived at 6 pm but I had to leave for a scheduled event and didn’t want an unsupervised stranger in my home…plus, he didn’t have the right parts. Finally, at 2:30 pm, three days later my water was back up and running. At no point did Hot2Cold seem to regard this as an urgent matter. I reached out to the Department of Business & Professional Regulation and found out that Hot2Cold doesn’t have a license for plumbing and neither do Troy or Berry. I am currently working on filing a formal complaint. I think it is safe to avoid this company. Beyond this disaster, the quotes for replacing my unit were insane. This guy didn’t listen to a thing I said plus he is charging thousands of more than the competition. Hot2Cold Quote: 3 Ton Franklin / Goodman 14 SEER $10,981.54 3 Ton Franklin / Goodman 15 SEER $13,103.10 Both these quotes were without ductwork which I wanted done. Caldeco gave me an estimate for a 3 Ton 16 SEER unit and duct work for $13,478 and an additional $2,000 to upgrade to their nicest Carrier unit. Air Quality Control gave me an estimate for 3 Ton 16 SEER Carrier unit for $10,241.36 with no ductwork. Air Pros gave me a quote of $9,480 for a 3.5 Ton 14.3 SEER Goodman unit and $10,483 for a 3.5 16 SEER Goodman. Chill Masters $6,000 3 Ton 14 SEER American Standard These guys are taking advantage of people. My hope is that by sharing my dreadful experience, others can avoid similar misfortune. In conclusion, my interaction with Hot2Cold was a cautionary tale of incompetence, poor communication, and inflated pricing. I implore Hot2Cold to reevaluate their practices, prioritize customer satisfaction, and implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

I asked Troy to have the repair persons fix and clean the outside unit. Cory/Rodney were on the roof Max 20 minutes rapped it up, showed me pictures. Did not bother to turn on the unit. It's a little louder and more vibration than before. I asked if they cleaned the unit Rodney said they were not told to clean it ! I’m frustrated not sure what my next move is.
Response from Hot 2 Cold Air Conditioning:
Hi Mark, thank you for making us aware of this. We didn't see where you called into us about this issue and would have been more than happy to follow up on this for you prior to posting a review. We will be more than happy to send Troy back out to evaluate the noise. The estimate that you approved was for the Contactor, the Condensor Pad for the roof, and the Hard Start Kit, so thats the work the crew was informed they needed to complete on the appointment. Please let us know here or call us at the office if you would like to have Troy come back out to evaluate the noise and you can also speak with him in regards to the cleaning.
Excellent, efficient service!

Today we visited to determine why the garage air handler has such a high static pressure. The machine is designed to have a maximum pressure of 0.50 in. W.C., but is operating at 1.10in. W.C. This high pressure has already caused a coil failure even though the unit is only three years old. The unit was moved from the attic and both the supply and return trunk lines are not sized for the proper volume of air. James put together a proper design and sent the estimate over to Mr. and Mrs. Mittelman. In addition to looking at the airflow issue James looked over the recent installation and the new Bosch unit is running great and ready for inspection.

The Bosch IDS Light is the first 15-SEER Inverter condenser on the market. This BOVA15 outdoor system combines the standard efficiency with our BVA15 fixed-speed air handler. With IDS Light, you get the benefits of our inverter system at a price point you’ll love!

Today we visited because the AC drain kept filling up and shutting off the unit. We discovered the condensate drain was clogged between the air handler and where the drain exists the home. James cleared the drain and the machine is operating properly.
James T.
Today we visited for two purposes. First, it was time for yearly maintenance and second there is an ongoing issue of the unit not keeping up on hot days. We learned the system is performing perfectly according to manufacturer specifications. Refrigerant charge is perfect, the temperature difference is perfect, the ductwork and static pressures are perfect. James completed a heat load and learned the unit is undersized. The existing system is a 3-ton unit and the heat load determined a 3.5 - ton is needed.

Performed yearly maintenance. Discovered there was a leak in the condenser coil, there was also a leak discovered in the evaporator coil on the inside recommended replacing coils or replacing full system as both coils need to be replaced, and that’s about it as much as a new system all together.
James T.
Today we visited because the AC unit was dripping water. Upon arrival the home was warmer than the set temperature and the unit was frozen. The inside coil was completely frozen and the refrigerant line all the way to the outside unit. We learned the unit is from 2002 and uses R-22 Freon which is now phased out. The primary issue today is a failed control relay in the outside unit. The relay failed in the ON position which causes the outside unit to run continuously even when the inside cycles off. To get the unit operating the system needs a new control relay and refrigerant. James was not able to get authorization for the repair because the owner is currently on a flight. He was texting her and can see the messages being delivered, but was not able to make contact.
troy@hot2coldairconditioning.com
Customers had a bad contact switch inside the condenser replace the contact switch condenser took a little while to come back online, however. Looked into the relay and found nothing wrong for now, but could be a potential issue in the future.
James T.
Today we visited to determine why the AC unit isn’t working. We learned the system is not functioning because it is out of refrigerant. James located two leaks in the unit, a large one in the outside coil and a small one in the inside coil. The parts are not available for this machine so James put together four replacement options and sent them to Pamela. The unit is NOT working at this time. James was not able to speak with the owners before leaving, but the information was delivered to Dimitri and Pamela.

Today we visited because the AC unit was not cooling the home. Mr. Glenn returned from a trip and noticed the home was warm. He changed the filter but the unit still wouldn’t cool. We learned the unit wasn’t working because it was low on refrigerant. We discovered a leak in the evaporator coil and on the compressor at the suction line. Also, when the drain was cleaned there was refrigerant dye in the drain. Since the machine is mismatched and past it’s expected life, James put together replacement information as well as the option to install refrigerant only. For today we only added refrigerant. - Recharge the system with refrigerant
James T.
Today we visited because one of the AC units was not blowing cool air. We learned the unit was not working because the compressor was not turning on. The dual run capacitor in the outside unit had failed and this prevented the compressor from running. James replaced the failed part and the unit is now up and running properly.
James T.
Today we visited because the AC unit was working intermittently. Luis noticed the unit would run whenever he took out the float switch. We learned the unit was acting up because of a clogged drain line. After cleaning the drain the system is now operating properly.
James T.
Today we visited because the air-conditioning system in the guest suite was not working. We learned the outside unit was not getting high voltage power because of a failed Generac surge protector. For now, the surge protector is bypassed to get the AC running.
James T.
This appointment was a scheduled phone call to provide pricing to replace a variable speed blower motor. James offered both the OEM motor and the available aftermarket motor. Christian confirmed he would like us to visit the home with the new motor to confirm the necessary repairs and perform the blower replacement.
James T.
Today we visited because the air conditioning system is not cooling the home. A few days ago the outside unit began making a grinding noise and shortly after the outside fan stopped working. We learned the outside fan motor is seized which is prohibiting the system from working. We also discovered the unit does not have a filter and because of this the inside unit is coated in drywall dust. We will be returning to replaced the failed motor, clean the blower assembly and perform a complete system maintenance.
troy@hot2coldairconditioning.com
Customer called because the air wasn’t cooling anymore. Condenser is older than the air handler, it’s a 2007. The air handler is a 2017. When contacts switch was depressed got full voltage going through. Fan motor was not operating. fan motor was very hot. Condenser bulb was not replacing the fan motor was the only option for the customer financially. With a 2017 air handler they system has a better chance than not that replacing the fan motor might get her by for the season.
James T.
Today are you visiting because the air-conditioning system was not blowing cool Air. We learned the unit cycling on and off with the thermostat, but it was not cooling because it was low on the refrigerant. Located a refrigerant leak in the indoor coil, the evaporator coil. James offered to replace the coil and perform the complete repair or to simply add refrigerant. At this time, Sean decided to just add refrigerant and gauge how long it will last. - Recharge the unit with refrigerant
troy@hot2coldairconditioning.com
Customer’s air conditioner was not cooling. Called us out to investigate. Upon arrival the condenser fan motor was not working but the condenser was on and the entire unit was extremely hot discovered also that the unit was installed in 2007 so installing major components was not advisable. Submitted three estimates for full unit replacement to the landlord. Awaiting response so we can proceed.
